At the request of the County Administrative Board of Västmanland County, SGU has assumed responsibility for investigations at the collection site Nedre Skärsjön, Skinnskatteberg Municipality, Västmanland County. In 2023, SGU was granted grant funds to develop a mass balance for surface water passing through Nedre Skärsjön. The purpose of the studies is to provide an initial basis for assessing the need for action in surface water and to prepare for further investigations of the lake itself.
