The Contract comprises the construction of two new Animal Management Centre Buildings (AMC1 and AMC2) together with a new wildlife park and associated external works.
An existing stable block will also be converted to create additional dog kennels. AMC1 is a 2 storey building comprising Animal Exhibit areas, Student/Visitor Teaching Zones, Classrooms, staff offices and ancillary support areas. AMC 1 will also include improved access and rationalisation and extension of vehicle parking, bus turning and waiting facilities.
AMC2 is a single storey building providing companion animal areas, teaching space, 20 Nr cat enclosures and ancillary support areas.
The AMC Dog Kennels will provide 14 Nr kennels with associated kitchen, grooming and quarantine areas.
A new external wildlife park will be created providing animal housing and enclosures, perimeter fencing, paths/walkways and landscaped areas.
The College reserves the right to withdraw the AMC2 Building and dog kennels from the project at any time if a bid for additional funding for future phases of the development is successful.
