The profile school (former secondary school with currently around 300 students) forms the school centre with its canteen and sports hall as well as sports facilities. It was built between 1963 and 1971, expanded several times and used by a secondary school for a long time. With the end of secondary school on 31.7.2016, the new form of school (profile school) uses the former buildings. In order to concentrate the profile school location in Ascheberg, the former secondary school in Herben is abandoned (with a total of about 200 students currently in total). For this purpose, the existing buildings have to be expanded, rebuilt and renovated, and a new building must be erected. For this purpose, a concept for the structural extension of the school buildings by at least 1 750 sqm of pedagogical usable space and the adaptation work resulting in the existing buildings as required, through a preceding “vGV - process object planning”.
The lack of space consists of classrooms, subject classes, all-day and administration. The functional requirements as well as the room program of the presentation and the ideas of students, students, teachers and parents apply to the planning at the site.
