Description:
Call to request to participate - Purchase of a PACS system

See II.2.4

Although AZ Sint-Jan Brugge-Oostende av and AZ Sint-Lucas vzw are separate hospitals, the radiologists of both Bruges hospitals united on 1-1-2021 into 1 association where all the doctors involved work in both hospitals. Every hospital has its own PACS system with archive.

Both hospitals use KWS RIS and reporting is done within KWS.

In addition to radiological images, non-radiological (DICOM) images of other services are also archived in the PACS system in both hospitals.

A workstation connected to the PACS system of the other hospital is available in each of the hospitals, in order to allow for any form of cross-campus cooperation.

The current situation is described in the selection guide.

Desirable situation:

The association radiology and both hospitals involved wish to install a common and robust state-of-the-art PACS system that meets the current and future needs of hospital-umbrella archiving, display, analysis and processing of DICOM images.

The system should also be able to provide storage and display of non-DICOM images.

The existing archive of both hospitals must be correctly and integrally taken over in the new environment and the historical data must be available in a performance way for viewing and comparison with new data. Reporting of investigations can be done both in the PACS system and in the RIS/EPD depending on the choice of service. The future PACS system should be linked in depth to the existing electronic patient record in both hospitals.
