The Ministry of Finance and for Europe of the State of Brandenburg (MdFE) - hereinafter: client - is the competent certification body (BS) pursuant to Art. 12 of Regulation (EU) No. 2021/2116 for the audit activities of the Länder Brandenburg and Berlin for the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) in the current funding period.

The task of the BS is to give an opinion on the annual accounts. The BS carries out its audit in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EU) No. 2022/128 and in compliance with international auditing standards (e.g. ISA, IDW standards). These standards require the CO to comply with the Code of Professional Conduct and to plan and carry out the audit in such a way that the IAs can make a reasonably confident judgement as to whether the annual accounts submitted to the Commission are free from material misstatement.

The MEP intends to have up to 35 in-depth audits of projects from the EAFRD Non-IACS (Non-Integrated Administration and Control System) carried out by an auditing firm with reporting in German.
