The contracting authority intends to enter into a framework agreement with a strategic collaboration partner with responsibility for carrying out modifications and maintenance of 4 Nansen-class vessels.

The framework agreement will help to strengthen the Defence's operational capabilities and preparedness through increased capacity for maintenance and upgrade services and relevant engineering support by providing the Defence with access to such services during times of peace, crisis, conflict and war.

In addition, the framework agreement will cover the Defence’s need to provide support to allied vessels in connection with exercises and crisis/war situations.
