The integrated municipality Werlte has taken over the wastewater treatment obligation of its member municipalities in accordance with § 97, NWG. For this purpose, it operates the Werlte (15,000 PE) and Lorup (7,000 PE) sewage treatment plants. Due to the constantly growing development of the municipalities, the sewage treatment plants have reached their capacity limits and must be expanded.
Against this background, a “development concept for wastewater treatment in the integrated municipality of Werlte” was drawn up in 2014. The result of the investigation is the closure of the Lorup sewage treatment plant, the transfer of the wastewater to the Werlte sewage treatment plant and conversion of the Werlte sewage treatment plant to digestion. The connection size for the observation horizon 2030 is around 36,000 inhabitants.
Since various measures are associated with the implementation and the sewage treatment plants have to be rebuilt during operation, the implementation is carried out in different phases.
In the 2nd construction phase, the plant components of the biology are to be upgraded or expanded. This includes the conversion of a combination basin into an aeration basin as well as the construction of a new aeration basin, 2 secondary clarifiers, the distributor structures, an RS pumping station and a blower station including a precipitant dosing station and the new NSHV.
EMSR technology In the 2nd construction phase (BA) for the conversion of KA Werlte, a new low-voltage switchgear for the biology department and a new low-voltage main distribution for KA Werlte are to be built. The old, no longer required low-voltage switchgear must be dismantled / dismantled. For regulation, control and monitoring of the biology, an automation station with a programmable logic controller must be set up, which must be connected to the higher-level controller (expansion of the new process control system, including Atvise, Acron and ABB OPC, from the 1st BA). Furthermore, level and water analysis measurements, lightning protection and equipotential bonding systems, socket outlets and lighting systems as well as the entire wiring of the electrical units of the biology, with the exception of compact systems, are to be installed or produced.
