The Cervids Portal, www.hjortevilt.no is a website that shall be a first choice for all seeking information about cervids, regardless of whether it concerns questions about research, management, hunting practice or news. The portal shall be a neutral communicator of knowledge and information, as well as at all times being the most content rich, informative and reliable website that offers information about cervids in Norway. It is required that not only the website is continually updated, but also that the operation of this is dedicated to a responsible organisation, with sufficient competence and resources to operate and further develop the solution.

This assignment comprises primarily the following main works:

— Publication of one to two news items each week.

— Produce, collect and process material for the static information pages.

— Publish statistical ‘tidbits’ from the Cervids Register at least two to three times per month.

— Assist in the development of the website's graphic design and layout and functionality

— Ensure that news from research and management is discussed.

— Ensure good availability of report and other relevant reading materials.

— Maintain the calendar and events overview updated.

— Keep statistics of visits to the website (Google Analytics or similar).

— Keep the website's Facebook profile updated.

— Establish and further develop contact with relevant contributors to the professional content on the portal.

— Have continuous and close dialogue with the Contracting Authority about the available material, publishing and decisions relevant to the portal's profile and development.

— Contribute to the increased involvement of The Cervids Register, The Environmental Community [Miljøkommune[ the Hjortevilt [Cervids] magazine and the national monitoring programmes for cervids.

— Develop the website in order to best reach the target audience.
