The Muldental Wastewater Association (AZV) takes over the mandatory task of wastewater disposal for its 6 member municipalities. AZV Muldental operates the Siebenlehn sewage treatment plant, which was built in 1997 and has a treatment capacity of 10,000 PE. The wastewater inflows from the following areas of the village of Siebenlehn are treated via rainwater overflow basins (RÜB), Siebenlehn (mixed water) and the Steyermühle industrial estate. As a result of the combined wastewater concept drawn up in 2021 for the Siebenlehn location, an increase in the maximum combined water inflow to the wastewater treatment plant from the current 35 l/s to 50 l/s is required to prove the combined wastewater discharge at the Siebenlehn RÜB. The AZV Muldental is planning upgrading measures at the Siebenlehn sewage treatment plant and the upstream RÜB. The Siebenlehn wastewater treatment plant will be fundamentally renovated during ongoing operations in the period from 08.11.2023 to 15.06.2026. The plant will be renovated in 4 conversion phases according to the progress of construction. During each conversion phase, the operation of the plant must be maintained with various temporary arrangements.
