The new building of the Germersheim fire brigade is an elongated, compact cube on the outside, which houses the various uses. Building key data: External dimensions:

Vehicle hall and warehouse as well as the foyer in the north-east extend over the entire height of the building, the areas with operations center, breathing protection area and clothing care, technology, social and training rooms are arranged in an L-shape on 2 levels.
With the exception of the steel columns in the foyer, the load-bearing structure is made of reinforced concrete (walls, columns, ceilings). Columns or walls are arranged along the longitudinal facades and in the middle of the building in a grid of 4.5 m. Semi-prefabricated beams are placed on the supports in the transverse direction of the building. Between the beams planned at intervals of approx. 4.5 m, a flat ceiling made of single-axis exciting semi-precast ceiling panels with top-side in-situ concrete addition spans.
