The subject matter of the contract is to contribute to improving the timeliness, quality and availability of DCF data for end users, whilst reducing the burden on Member States for making this data available, thereby building on the outcome of the study on ‘Scientific data storage and transmission under the 2014–2020 data collection multiannual programme (DC-MAP) — feasibility study’.
The results of the study should provide all the necessary background information that will allow the Commission to decide on how to establish a European fisheries data hub. It should analyse the actual benefits that would be provided and the feasibility of establishing this fisheries data hub on a permanent basis. The information delivered in the framework of this project should be sufficiently detailed to allow for an informed discussion between the Commission and the various stakeholders involved in the transition towards an EU fisheries data hub. The proposed model should demonstrate if and how all stakeholders' needs and requirements will be met and any constraints and issues will be addressed.
