The strategic acquisition of the City of Turku is asking for the pipeline installation contract through an open procurement procedure commissioned by Turku Energia Oy - Åbo Energi Ab. The purchase is for a pipe installation contract, which is part of a larger overall contract for the construction, renovation and renovation of district heating and cooling lines controlled by Turku Energia in the Turku region economic area. There are about 400 km of cable networks in Turku, about 100 km in Raisio, about 45 km in Naantali and about 45 km in Kaarina.

The total contract also includes a construction contract previously tendered in separate tendering procedures for this procurement procedure, to which the pipe-laying and insulation contract will be subject to a separate subrogation agreement in accordance with the RT 80271 subcontract sub-contract. The pipeline installation contract has been previously tendered and as a result of the tendering process, two (2) companies with 60% (+/- 6%) and 40% (+/- 6%) units were selected. The contractor responsible for the 60% plumbing contract decided to terminate its contract and run down its district heating business, which resulted in a 60% plumbing contract being procured for a fixed period to secure the developer. Following the direct purchase, this acquisition was started immediately to cover the remainder of the total contract period for the purchase of 60% of the pipeline contract. As a result of the tendering procedure, the company with the highest number of points in the tender comparison shall be selected to carry out the pipeline contract, with the contractor having the highest score having 60% of the total volume realized, with a tolerance of +/- 6%. Alternative offers will not be accepted. Pipe installation and insulation contracts are tendered out as a joint procurement and cannot be offered separately.
