Description:
Analyzes and assessments of the climate impact of instruments and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transport, development of design options

The core subject of the contract are analyzes and assessments of the climate protection effect of all types of instruments and concrete measures for greenhouse gas reduction in transport, with multiple variants and possible combinations.

The focus is on the electrification of traffic.

The development and ongoing development of the Program of Measures will require the evaluation and development of greenhouse gas mitigation actions and packages, and their long-term consistency on climate change, the environment and conservation of resources, social acceptability and their impact on the economy and employment. The purpose of the contract is to advise the client on this topic continuously and adapted to current issues.

The core subject of the contract is therefore analyzes and assessments of the climate protection effect of all types of instruments and concrete measures for greenhouse gas reduction in transport, with multiple variants and possible combinations. Interactions are therefore to be considered. The contract also includes advice on key, touching questions: what is the assessment from the perspective of a long-term and international (EU-related and global) climate policy consistency, for example when looking at climate contributions to the sector target 2030 in relation to long-term carbon neutrality? What are the stipulations of such a valuation? Which other environmental effects are associated with measures? What are the effects of different approaches and measures with regard to the overall economy / companies / sectors and distributional effects, the latter in particular with regard to households and certain household groups.

The focus of the considerations is on the electrification of traffic. This applies both to the electrification of drive systems, which is usually associated with considerable efficiency gains, and to the use of electricity as a source of energy in transport (directly or indirectly via Power-to-Gas / Liquid (PtX)).
