The measurements shall provide basis for:
— Monitoring the development in greenhouse gases’ concentrations in the atmosphere,
— Assess the significance the regional anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases have on changes in the radiation balance in the atmosphere,
— Demonstrate possibly alterations in concentrations from greenhouse gases as a result of agreements entered into,
— Present connections between ozone measurements and UV radiation from same localisation,
— Provide basis for analyses of tendencies based on systematic continuous ozone measurements,
— Provide data to the Climate and Pollution Agency’s (the Awarding Authority) website "Miljøstatus I Norge", provide key figures to the White Paper regarding the Nation’s state of the environment and information to the general public regarding UV notifications in connection with Easter,
— Report measured levels of air pollution in air and precipitation at the stations stated in Annex B work scope,
— Report and provide information of changes in levels and emissionsof air pollutants transported over a long distance over time,
— By using models and/or trajectory calculations, contribute to identify source ranges/source regions for discharge of air pollutions to Norway, and clarify the contribution from various sources (e.g. industry, traffic, forest fire),
— Contribute to assess the significance of long-distance transported air pollutants as pollution source in Norway,
— Contribute to/provide basis for explanation of effects from air pollutants in other areas of the environment in Norway,
— Contribute to assess the effect of measures and international agreements regarding emission reductions and if further measures are required for support the agreements,
— Contribute to assessment and provide some information of alterations in the discharges as a possibly result of the climatic change.
