For the area of the Columbus island in Bremerhaven an adjustment of the embroidery heights for the flood protection line has to be done. This is achieved in part by the increase of existing sheet piling. On the other hand, new sheet pile walls must be introduced. For this purpose, 4 HWS gates (2 stay gates & 2 sliding gates) are being rebuilt along the HWS line. The new embroidery height is then NHN 7.80 m. This is about 1.00 m higher than the existing HWS line.
