The Authority is seeking a partner who is able to deliver Microbiology services and meet the following Key Goals/Vision:

— Operate a 7 day Service;

— ISO:15189 accreditation;

— Ability to grow/expand and develop the service;

— Deliver value for money to the Public.

The purpose of the specification is to define the service quality and standards required of a comprehensive, end-to-end Microbiology service that meets the needs of service users and commissioners, supports delivery of high-quality patient care in all settings and facilitates research and development, teaching and training.

This tender documents define the ‘core requirements’, including electronic requesting and reporting, and outlines potential areas for development of added value services and innovations that the provider may wish to consider.
