Biocenter Oulu University of Oulu seeks an instrument for automated imaging of protein crystallization experiments.

The instrument would include a plate hotel and have both UV and visible light imaging options.

Biocenter Oulu seeks an instrument for automated imaging of protein crystals. The new imager will replace two old 54-plate imagers which will be retired. The new imager has a larger capacity of at least 90 crystallization plates for automated imaging and UV imaging capability.

The instrument will be part of the Structural Biology core facility infrastructure of Biocenter Oulu. The core facility has an open access policy and the instrumentation and software should be easy to use and maintain. The system has software(s) to control the instrument and to define imaging schedules and scoring of the drops. The imager will be integrated with an in-house developed IceBear crystallography data management system, which results in specific requirements defined in the appendices. The imager software is expected to come with detailed documentation of all features and software upgrades are to be made available regularly. The instrument and the software must be well suited to an academic multi user environment.
