The Department of Foreign Affairs has general responsibility for all aspects of Ireland’s foreign relations and foreign policy. It maintains a growing network of over 100 diplomatic missions throughout the world. The Department’s officers and their eligible dependents may be required to travel to or to live for extended periods of time in locations around the world where there are potential security or medical challenges and/or limited service provision and/or limited local access to reliable advice and information.
