Description:

The Primary Falls Prevention and Physical Activity service in Doncaster will offer a range of activities which would be attractive to younger older people (50-65 year-olds) to encourage them to remain or become physically active, with a view to maintaining or improving bone health and reducing the risk of falling.

Key Service Outcomes.

To provide sustainable opportunities for people aged over 50 years in Doncaster to become more active.

Utilise national guidance, knowledge, skills and best practice to develop high quality evidence based physical activity opportunities for inactive older adults.

To deliver services which are accessible, responsive and offer greater choice of times, locations and activities.

Increase capacity within Doncaster for the delivery of safe and appropriate physical activity opportunities for adults aged 50+.

Encourage adults over 50 years to lead a physically active lifestyle and to recognise the benefits of doing so.

Target aged 50+ adults who are at risk of becoming or who are socially isolated.

Encourage and support local residents to become volunteers who will support those over 50 years to be more physically active.
