The objective of this technical assistance operation is to support the policy of the Kingdom of Morocco, through the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports (the promoter), for the implementation of a schooling programme, aimed at the construction of approximately 150 new community and satellite schools located in rural areas, as well as the supply of teaching materials and equipment. The main objectives are to support the management committee for the implementation of the investment programme, to set up a monitoring and coordination system for the project, to guarantee that the execution of the project will comply with norms and standards of the EIB, the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco, and to strengthen the capacities of the promoter at the central level, and especially at the level of the Regional Education and Training Academies (‘Académies régionales d’éducation et de formation’ – AREF).
