The city of Flensburg acquired the almost 500 m² Angelburger Str. property at the beginning of 2022 and is planning to modernize and repair it in accordance with urban development funding regulations. Due to the condition of the building, considerable modernization costs can be expected to be unprofitable. The possibility of funding for urban development exists, as the building complex was classified as a complex with a high need for modernization in the preparatory studies of the Western Old Town redevelopment area.
Angelburger Str. 15 follows the structural scheme of the merchant's courtyards. The order comprises the front building with a solid front building and two structurally separate frame structures adjoining the north, as well as two side wings that adjoin the three-section front structure and are staggered in height.

The building as a whole has an exceptionally high level of historical preservation significance for the city of Flensburg and is a listed building. The front part of the front building probably dates from a time before 1551 and thus underlines the special architectural significance of the merchant's court. It is the second-oldest dated town house in the southern old town and the oldest half-timbered building in the district. The farm character is well preserved. Architectural services from the service phases 3-9 according to § 34 HOAI 2021 are to be awarded as a phased contract for the modernization and repair of Angelburger Straße 15, including the planning and implementation of security measures in accordance with the regulations of urban development funding law. As a special service of work phase 3, a modernization and repair study is to be carried out in order to clarify the basic feasibility and eligibility of the project. The modernization and repair study is based on the urban development promotion guidelines.
In order to be able to raise funding for the construction of Angelburger Straße 15 as part of the Schleswig-Holstein urban development promotion, the necessary conditions must first be created in performance phase 3 (stage 1) and application documents must be prepared. The modernization and repair study forms the basis of the qualified grant application for the modernization measure for submission to the Ministry of the Interior, Rural Areas, Integration and Gender Equality of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.
