The service will comprise of an annual gas safety check and appliance servicing, associated maintenance and responsive repairs in approximately 2 200 domestic dwellings predominantly in the western half of the borough. The service will include smoke detector servicing testing and installations (all properties where fitted), carbon monoxide detector servicing testing and installations (all properties where fitted) and maintenance and responsive repairs to mains pressure hot water systems (unvented) both gas and electric, and maintaining the existing asset register of appliances and associated equipment. The service provider will be required to carry out the upgrading of existing systems when required and installation of first time heating installations on demand. In addition, the service provider will be required to develop the installation and use of low carbon technologies including all associated ancillary works. A key element for successfully delivering this service is the ability of the service provider to interface with the Councils Orchard Job ordering system to ensure an efficient flow of information.
