The purpose of the procedure is to rely on the provision of clusters of GARR-CSD servers and network devices for cloud.

The supply is divided into independent batches:

— lot 1, calculation: supply and installation of servers intended for scientific calculation and management of the infrastructure,

— lot 2, storage: supply and install storage servers,

— lot 3, network: supply and installation of network equipment.

This batch consists of a modular solution (calculation module) to meet general computing needs, advanced computing with GPU, infrastructure management.

The supply will consist of at least 11 identical calculation modules consisting of calculation servers and at least two (2) management servers (MGMTUnit), for a total of 4 500 minimum physical cores.

Note: With regard to the number of minimum physical cores, it should be noted that logical processing units such as those provided by Hyper-Threading or Simultaneous Multi-Threading are not counted in this context as separate cores.

The calculation modules will be installed in the locations referred to in art. 3, according to a detailed plan that will be defined, and communicated to the assignee, after the closure of the purchase procedure. In this regard, it should be noted that the following number of computation/storage racks are currently managed at each location:

— CT, PA: 4 racks,

— NA, CS, TO: 1 rack.

The calculation module may include a maximum of 2 (two) different types of servers, with the warning that groups of servers that differ only by a) number of installed CPUs and the relative amount of memory RAM, or b) number or type of GPUs installed, are considered to belong to a single type.

All servers must be based on x86_64 architecture, and each equipped with at least two 25GbE Ethernet optical interfaces and at least one copper 1Gbps Ethernet interface for management.

This batch consists of a modular solution (Storage Module) to meet storage needs.

The supply will consist of at least 11 identical storage modules, for a total of 10 PB minimum capacitive disk space (see definition in L2-RE-14), to be installed in the locations referred to in Article 3, according to a plan detailed that will be defined, and communicated to the assignee, after the closing of the purchase procedure. In this regard, it should be noted that the following number of computation/storage racks are currently managed at each location:

— CT, PA: 4 racks,

— NA, CS, TO: 1 rack.

The storage module must include servers of a single type.

All servers must be based on x86_64 architecture, and equipped with at least two 25GbE Ethernet optical interfaces and at least one 1Gbps copper Ethernet interface for management.

Lot 3 concerns the provision of a network system consisting of Switch/Routers of Ethernet type that constitute the communication system between computing and storage servers, both at the single rack level which among the various racks also located in other locations.
