Five of Nordværk's owner municipalities (Brønderslev, Hjørring, Jammerbugt, Mari-agerfjord and Rebild) have transferred competence to Nordværk.
For the purposes of this tender, food waste is to be understood as food waste collected in the five owner-municipalities via the respective collection schemes for food waste.
In connection with this tender, the Supplier shall perform the following tasks for Nordværk:
- Pre-treatment of food waste to prepare for biogasification
- Transport of pretreated food waste from pre-treatment plants to biogas plants
- Biogasification of the pre-treated food waste
- Deposition of the biogas produced
- Deposition of residual product after biogasification (digestate)
- Delivery of statistics and reporting
The Offered Agreement has a duration of 24 months with the possibility to extend the duration by 24 months 4 times.

For the purposes of this tender, food waste is to be understood as food waste collected in the five owner municipalities via the respective collection schemes for food waste.
The following tasks must be performed for Nordværk:
- Pre-treatment of food waste to prepare for biogasification
- Transport of pretreated food waste from pre-treatment plant to biogas plant
- Biogasification of the pre-treated food waste
- Deposition of the project
- Deposition of the biogas produced
- Deposition of residual product after biogasification (digestate)
- Delivery of statistics and reporting
Food waste includes raw and prepared vegetable and animal food waste, coffee grounds, cut flowers and the like from private households and, to a lesser extent, from municipal institutions and small private enterprises. The food waste is collected from garden dwellings and apartment buildings in two-chamber containers as well as from buried containers on a smaller scale. The emptying frequency is up to 14 days. Emptying takes place with refuse collection trucks with compactors, which after emptying drive to Nordværk, where the food waste is reloaded before it is transported to the Supplier's pre-treatment plant. Nordværk has reloading of food waste in Aalborg and Hjørring. Nordværk is responsible for transporting the food waste to the supplier's pre-treatment plant. After receipt of the food waste, the Supplier is responsible for the entire process until the food waste is distributed as digestate on agricultural land. This includes pre-treatment, biogasification, marketing of residues and end products (biogas and digestate), necessary transports and other things necessary for the performance of the described task.
