This is planned on the area of today's free installation. In addition to the bus port and the charging technology, the preparation of the parking area with a new drainage concept, the construction of the fire compartments, the preparation of the ring station are further components of the general planning. The floor area to be re-planned is approx. 7,000 m². Essential objects of the planning service are the planning of the object, open space, structural and building services as well as the drainage concept.

Rheinbahn AG is the operator of public transport in the state capital Düsseldorf and the surrounding region. Currently, the bus fleet consists of about 500 own vehicles, which are maintained and parked in five depots. As part of the transition to emission-free vehicles, Rheinbahn is planning to build a new parking hall with charging infrastructure for around 100 buses at the Düsseldorf Benrath depot at Hildener Straße 72. This includes the bus port, the preparation of the parking area with a new drainage concept, the construction of the fire compartments, the preparation of the ring station with the following framework conditions:

- The floor area to be redesigned is approx. 7,000 m².

- Bus parking for approx. 100 solo and articulated buses.

- Fire compartments with approx. 20 vehicles are to be formed.

- Bus wash with working pit incl. heating-ventilation, gates and water treatment system (incl. rainwater harvesting).

- For fire protection reasons, the bus wash is to be located in the new bus port.

- The bus port will receive a complete charging infrastructure with charging hoods for battery-electric buses with pantographs. The complete charging infrastructure for approx. 100 buses (10 KV switching connection panel, transformer, charging rectifier) including cable routes and connection conditions must be planned.

- The charging power is at least 75 kW, for fast chargers at least 150 kW.

- Coordination with the planning and consideration of the interfaces is required.

- The planning includes a lighting concept and the necessary telecommunications (video, communication, fire alarm technology, radio location and data networks, etc.).

- The entire roof area is to be planned as a green roof with a photovoltaic system and energy storage.

- The drainage concept for the entire depot including the newly built floor areas with connection to the existing facilities must be planned.

- The bus port must be created in a grid that optimises the parking of solo and articulated buses.

- The construction of the bus sports and the bus wash will take place during ongoing operations.

- In order to maintain the use of part of the parking area, the measure is to be divided into two construction phases. This must be taken into account as part of the planning.
