Cruising speed is increased in the almost 3.6 km long water flow tunnel and comprehensively rehabilitates the existing gravel road.

In 2012, the entire tunnel vault and the tunnel road on the founnaders side on the founnaders side were rehabilitated, the sole was lowered, water pipes renewed and a new gravel road and a new ceiling track was installed along the entire length. The reconstruction of the remaining tunnel road (including tunnels under the state road) is now pending. The track geometry must be adjusted, which requires a conversion of the superstructure from the portal founnaders as well as an adjustment of the ceiling track. The repair is partly carried out during line closures.

The SOB is looking for a TU for planning and execution from SIA phase 32 onwards. The services are described functionally and the technical choice of variants (gravel or solid road} is left open to the TU within the framework of legal provisions.
