The core of the project consists of tunnelling the A10 South on the route (roughly) from Buitenveldert cemetery to the Beatrixpark on the north side and from VUmc to the AFC football fields on the south side. One tunnel system is being built consisting of a northern and southern tunnel. The new tunnel tubes will be placed between the existing buildings and on both sides of the metro and train tracks. The
tunnel tubes are crossed at the top by the Parnassusweg, the (new) Brittenpassage and the Minervapassage from Zuid station, and the Beethovenstraat. There are two tunnel tubes per direction, one containing the parallel lane (2 lanes) for local traffic and one containing the main lane (4 lanes) for through traffic.
For further information, see the procurement guidance.
The contract is also tendered by Rijkswaterstaat on behalf of ProRail B.V. and the municipality of Amsterdam.
