DN issues invitations to a competition in connection with a pilot project for extraction of Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) from Gule/Stavikmyrane nature reserve. We want to link a Research and Development project (R & D) to the extraction of Sitka spruce in order to monitor the impact on the vegetation as a result of various treatments methods. In addition, the risk of spreading of the Sitka outside the planted areas shall be mapped, to evaluate the risk of regrowth in the areas from where the Sitka spruce is removed. The competition includes an option for the implementation of similar projects in the Sandblåst/Gaustadvågen nature reserve.
