BIR AS would like to establish a new biogas facility at Bjørkemoen in Voss. The site for the biogas facility is situated next to IHM IKS' area in Bjørkemoen.

This turnkey contract is for the complete delivery of the technical process installations for the production of biogas from food waste and liquid manure. The facility will generally consist of the process section that is illustrated in the block diagram below. Process ventilation, odour treatment, and technical support systems will also be part of the delivery. The turnkey contract also includes the start-up of the facility and operational responsibility during the 12 month trial operational period, as well as particular responsibility for communication with and documentation for DSB when registering the facility.

The facility will generally consist of the process section that is illustrated in the block diagram below. The turnkey contract also includes the start-up of the facility and operational responsibility during the 12 month trial operational period, as well as particular responsibility for communication with and documentation for DSB when registering the facility. Incoming substrate will be 15,000 tonnes food waste from households and 30,000 tonnes liquid manure. The final products will be compressed bio methane, CO2 for storage or further upgrade, solid bio-manure, and liquid bio-manure for local agricultural use. The facility will minimise the consumption of process water and will not have emissions to the recipient. The facility will allow efficient operation and flexibility as regards substrate composition. A central goal for the procurement of the biogas facility is the highest possible environmental and climate benefit. The turnkey contractor's solution must use as much of the incoming substrate's energy and nutritional content as possible. Both the construction and operation of the facility must be carried out with the lowest possible climate gas emissions. The purity of the bio-manure will also be guiding for the function requirements that are set for the facility. The building and construction work will be carried out in a separate contract. The two different contracts will be expected to cooperate well throughout the entire process. The process contractor must cooperate with the building contractor in the planning phase so that the building's qualities area adapted to the needs of the process. The contractors must interact in meetings held between them, and in meetings arranged by the builder. The interaction will continue until the final hand-over.
