The Schulwerk of the Diocese of Augsburg (church foundation d. Ö. R.) is tendering the delivery of 1,540 iOS tablets for the 44 schools of the Schulwerk as part of the “Special Budget Teacher Service Equipment” funding program. Appropriate MDM solutions are already in use in the schools of the Schulwerk, with which existing iOS devices are administered. The Schulwerk has also already acquired licenses for iOS applications. The effort for the changeover or a parallel MDM solution for iOS and for other operating systems would be associated with unacceptable economic and personnel costs. The compatibility of the tablets with the existing devices enables them to be exchanged between the schools of the Schulwerk as required. The introduction of a further MDM system for other operating systems would make central support (as it is set up in the Schulwerk) impossible in daily practice, since different support systems would have to be used for different devices. The advertised devices are to be used after the Bavarian Whitsun holidays. The delivery must therefore take place no later than 7 June 2021 (delivery date).
