Nottinghamshire TCP wishes to commission a 12 month pilot Planned and Unplanned Respite Service as part of providing an alternative to hospital admission when this is not appropriate. The intention is for people to have the right support at the right time in the community.
The aim is for the pilot to inform the long-term shape of Nottinghamshire's service model which needs to be capable of responding appropriately and confidently to a person experiencing difficulties in the community, or deterring/de-escalating a situation to prevent an unnecessary hospital admission. It is anticipated that the provision of respite services will reduce demand on hospital services, and release funds for community services by focusing on preventing crisis and addressing crises.
