Scheinfeld High School is centrally located in Scheinfeld. The school consists of several buildings of various years of construction, from 1937 to 2007. The buildings to be demolished are mainly two-storey, some with basement.

The plan is to completely demolish all buildings except the refectory from 2007/08 and to replace them with 4 structurally connected new buildings (building components A, B, C and D). This will be done in 3 phases beginning in 2018 and scheduled completion in 2023.

On the property there is also the sports hall, built in 1993, which is not part of the project. On another property north of the school grounds is the former caretaker's house, which will be demolished after a provisional use in the construction phase and the area for the construction of new parking spaces.

The main entrance of the Gymnasium is currently on the Landwehrstraße, between the so-called Zwischenbau and the Goethe Building.

The planning of the new building provides for the new main entrance on the corner Landwehrstraße and Goethestraße to realize. This will be the new linchpin of the school building. From there, the school streets (school corridors, about 2, 50 m wide) extend at a right angle to the north towards the Mensa building and to the west. In the north, the elongated component A accommodates the school hall on the ground floor, the music rooms, access to the cafeteria and other ancillary rooms, upstairs the administration with library, staff room, silentium room and 3 classrooms. Part A is partly basement, here are the common rooms of the upper level and storage rooms. The westward connecting components B and C accommodate only classrooms. The component D forms the spatial conclusion of the Gymnasium in the west. In this component all specialist rooms are housed. On the ground floor, the departments of chemistry and biology take place, on the upper floor physics and art. The component D is completely basement, here are the computer rooms and alternative rooms, as well as the technical rooms with the house connections.

The replacement new buildings are created while the school is running. The project is divided into 3 phases. In the first construction phase, the component D is created with the new house connections and technical rooms. In the second phase, the class houses are components C and B with 2 connecting passages to the component of. In the third construction phase, the third connection passage and the component A are created. The demolition is successively component by component to the new building.
