SBB has safe deposit box systems (SFA) in operation at a total of 85 stations: new locker systems and blue locker systems (SFA). The blue SFA can only be paid for with coins and can be closed or opened with physical keys. SBB wants to modernise this type of system in the form of upcycling. Around 70 small to medium-sized SBB locations and various other locations with the same type of system from other transport companies or third parties still have blue FAAs. In a first stage, SBB is planning to convert 40 locations. To this end, SBB is looking for a cost-effective and fast upcycling solution for modernisation in order to meet current customer needs and extend its operational capability.
