The contractor shall support delivery of HQ ITG (the User) Realities of War exercises, specifically for Army Training Centre (Pirbright) Army Training Regiment (Winchester) and Army Foundation College (Harrogate). This contractor will need to provide transport, accommodation, feeding and suitably qualified battlefield tour guides.

Headquarters Initial Training Group (HQ ITG) is responsible for the delivery of Basic Training to Standard Entry (SE) and Junior Entry (JE) Recruits, training up to 7 000 personnel annually. A key aspect of this training is the recruit’s participation in a ‘Realities of War’ exercise whereby they visit former battlefields to learn about the deeds and qualities of their forbears in the British Army.

On average, HQ ITG delivers 30-46 RoW exercises annually, the planning, administration and delivery of which falls to military Education and Training Services (ETS) personnel.

There now exists a requirement for HQ ITG to have the ability to contract a commercial battlefield tour company (or companies) to support the planning, administration and delivery of all future RoW exercises.

The contractor shall support delivery of HQ ITG (the User) RoW exercises, specifically for Army Training Centre (Pirbright) (ATC(P)), Army Training Regiment (Winchester) (ATR(W)) and Army Foundation College (Harrogate) (AFC(H)).

There are two main RoW exercises run by HQ ITG:

1) Exercise Valiant Spirit (Ex VS).3 days in Belgium;

2) Exercise Lion’s Spirit (Ex LS). 5 days in Normandy.
