The KID intends to tender an EVB-IT cloud contract with an economic operator, which will be concluded with the KID and will serve to meet the needs of LH MD for the provision, implementation, configuration and support services of the Internet Access solution as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for 2800 users of the manufacturer Zscaler. The EVB-IT cloud contract is intended to take into account the regular change in the requirements placed on KID and its customers. The aim is to establish a partnership between the KID and the contractor during the term of the contract in order to meet the challenges associated with the change.

The awarding authority already issued a tender for a cloud security platform last year due to the short-term requirements for equipping an IT-secure home office workstation for LH MD employees. The previous national tender for a cloud security platform showed that the manufacturer Zscaler was able to prevail with its system and the provider offered the solution from the manufacturer Zscaler. The system of this manufacturer is introduced in the LH MD on the basis of the tender carried out.

On the basis of this result, the requirements were further developed so that the existing structure in the LH MD is continued. The KID is now intended to extend the cloud security platform by transforming the existing licenses of the manufacturer Zscaler with the functionalities described in point 2. The existing licenses are valid until 31.07.2023. In the course of the license transformation, the licenses are to start on 01.08.2023 with regard to the term and have a total term of four years. Due to its personnel and organizational structure, KID is not in a position to support two systems in an IT-secure environment, so that a product-related tender takes place.
