Statsbygg is the owner and administers numerous buildings and structures in Svalbard. A warmer (and increasingly wet) climate will affect the ground conditions in such a way that the buildings and structures are affected. Several of Statsbygg's buildings/structures in Svalbard is expected to have a long life. Statsbygg therefore requests a review of the consequences of climatic changes in a long-term perspective. The assignment includes the following lots:

— Provide a description of climate scenarios for Svalbard (Longyearbyen) in 2050, 2100 and 2200 (if possibly).

— Evaluate how the expected climatic changes up until year 2200 will affect the permafrost and construction ground in and around Longyearbyen.

— Evaluate how the changes in climate, permafrost and ground conditions will affect the administration of Statsbygg's current buildings and structures on Svalbard and for future construction projects and measures.
