Expansion of the European Cycle Route R 1, project phase 1, various sections of the route
The European Cycle Route R1 leads from France, Belgium and the Netherlands via Germany, Poland, the Baltic States to Russia. Within the Salzlandkreis, the supra-regional cycle path leads through various cities and municipalities for around 75 kilometres. The subject of the construction project is the expansion of individual sections of the European Cycle Route R1 within the district boundaries of the Salzlandkreis. The aim is to adapt existing routes of cycle paths and farm paths to the requirements of a supra-regional cycle path network in terms of cross-section and state of development.
The construction project includes the expansion of existing cycle paths and farm paths in nine sections on a total of approx. 8,160 m of the European Cycle Path. The cycle paths (approx. 2,450 m) will be expanded with a cross-section width of 2.5 m and the farm roads (approx. 5,710 m) with a cross-section width of 3.0 m and 3.5 m respectively and provided with asphalt pavement.
The following sections of the route are affected:
Section 1 Sixdorf-Biendorf 1,885 m
Section 2 Nienburg, Askaniastraße 120 m
Section 3 Hecklingen, Pflaumenweg 1,216 m
Section 4 Hecklingen, Quedlinburger Weg 1,007 m
Section 5 Gap closure of dirt road Hecklingen 27 m
Section 6 Neu Königsaue - B180, Part 2 141 m
Section 7 Neu Königsaue - B180, Part 1 1,625 m
Section 8 K 1370 - L 73 1,416 m
