Midlands and Lancashire CSU on behalf of Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Group, North Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Stafford and Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group, East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula Clinical Commissioning Group and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group (The CCGs) are inviting suitably qualified providers of nursing homes to submit an indicative tender to be included in a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for the management and service provision of patients newly requiring NHS continuing healthcare. It is the intention of the commissioner that the service be split into the following lots:
Care Home with Nursing – General Care;
Care Home with Nursing – Functional Mental Health;
Care Home with Nursing – Dementia;
Care Home with Nursing – Challenging Behaviour;
Care Home with Nursing – End of Life;
Care Home with Nursing – Learning Disability.
Providers should have the ability to provide professional nursing and carer support to individuals with complex nursing and care support needs.
Providers should have the ability to manage service users with significant functional mental health deficits to include psychosis and personality disorder which may challenge services.
Providers should have the ability to provide professional nursing and carer support to patients who have significant cognitive deficits and require high levels of support to maintain independence and dignity.
Providers should have the ability to manage challenging behaviours and resistance to care requiring skilled carers and trained in distraction and behaviour management techniques.
Providers should have the ability to provide holistic and sensitive end of life care to include the use of anticipatory drugs and spiritual support.
Providers should have the ability to support individuals with learning disabilities in the least restrictive environment promoting independence and inclusion.
