Campus Vaihingen, 70569 Stuttgart, University of Stuttgart; Renewal of building automation, 1st BA, engineering services according to Part 4 Section 2 HOAI - Plant Group 1.1.8, The University of Stuttgart operates 150 buildings with a total of 635,000 m²NGF. The automation stations of the buildings communicate via the university's data network with central management level(s) (MBE), to which 80,000 data points (DP) are currently connected. The heterogeneous building structure, which has been built over several decades, is also reflected in the building automation (BA), some of which is considerably outdated or has already failed. The MBE consists of products from different manufacturers and is also overloaded, so that new DPs can no longer be connected and trend recordings are no longer possible. In order to maintain operations, a complete renovation of the GA is required across all GA levels. In 2020, a study was already carried out to identify the need for refurbishment and to outline a refurbishment concept. The aim of the planning is to create a BA system that enables the operator to ensure reliable, energy-optimised and climate-friendly operation of the university buildings with low personnel costs. The system should be adaptable to changing requirements of building operation, resistant to attacks and manipulations, and expandable with regard to new DPs to be connected. Due to the complexity and scope of the measure, the overall renovation is to be divided into 3-4 construction phases (BA). In the first BA, a new MBE is to be built and three buildings in the field of building automation are to be renovated.
