The Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) includes EU bioenergy sustainability criteria covering biofuels, bioliquids, biomass fuels as well as criteria for emissions savings and production of renewable fuels on non-biological origin and recycled carbon fuels. The Commission also proposed a certification framework of low carbon fuels. The objective of the contract is to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the EU sustainability criteria for all these fuels in the period post-2022.This contract will focus on the assessment of the performance of voluntary and national certification schemes for all types of RES and low carbon fuels and the implementation of relevant methodologies. It will also cover aspects of traceability of RES energy as well as implementing of reporting obligations of certification schemes and EU Member States.
Single FWC to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the revised EU sustainability criteria for the period post-2020 as per the revision of the renewable Energy Directive 2018/2001/EC.
