A double-track extension will be carried out.
The lines of the Stadtbahn Waldkircher Straße connect to the existing Stadtbahn line 2 at the
Friedhofstraße and to the existing Stadtbahn line 2 u . 4 in the area of Zähringer Straße Nord u. Süd.
In addition, underground, track and catenary work will take place in the still open construction phases, otherwise
the civil engineering work has been completed.
In this context, the RECtifier plant GW 5 1 for the traction power supply of the light rail
Waldkircher Straße is renewed and reinforced, as well as a power coupling switch in Zähringer Straße
built up to stabilize the traction current.
