Are you interested in innovation and sustainability in a new context? Then this SBIR challenge might be for you! We challenge you to come up with an idea that fits this challenge, and investigate and test with local partners if and how your innovation can be made suitable for one of the African countries. We also cordially invite innovators and designers that are not yet active internationally or in the countries mentioned to participate. This SBIR offers a paid feasibility phase to test your idea and find suitable partners.

The call is open for the following countries: Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda

For phase 1 of this SBIR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers a budget of €500,000 (including VAT) per theme. The maximum budget per project for a feasibility study in phase 1 is €50,000 (including VAT).

For SBIR phase 2, €800,000 (incl. VAT) is available per theme plus any residual budget of phase 1, the maximum amount per project is €200,000 (incl. VAT). Only the projects that have completed the feasibility study (phase 1) with good results can get an invitation to make an offer for phase 2.
