In the core area of the SH tariff, customers use regional trains, buses in city and overland, and ferries. In the wider scope of the SH tariff, passengers also use suburban trains and subways. The procurement of the check-in/loading system takes place without infrastructure. Infrastructureless means that no additional infrastructure has to be built in to enable the location of a customer smartphone and thus track the journey. In particular, it must not be necessary to install additional systems permanently in transport or at stations.

The check-in/check-out system should independently determine the services used by the passenger from the tariff offer of the SH fare. After check-in, the customer's journey is documented by their own smartphone. This means that the customer does not have to manually specify their start and destination points. He simply uses the network's means of transport available to him. After their journey, check-out takes place automatically without the customer having to interact with the CIBO app or the CIBO system. The correct product is automatically determined based on the route sections and/or journeys made.
