The commissioner is seeking practitioners to provide community carpal tunnel and hand surgery services to patients who are registered with a practice that is part of Bassetlaw CCG, or people who are resident in Bassetlaw CCG area but are not registered with any practice whatsoever.
The service will include:
— confirmation of initial clinical assessment,
— injection (if required),
— splinting (if required),
— open release surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome,
— surgery for trigger finger,
— surgery for ganglion,
— follow up (if required),
— discharge and management planning.
The service will be commissioned using the Any Qualified Provider (AQP) process.
The commissioner is seeking practitioners to provide community carpal tunnel and hand surgery services to patients who are over 18 and registered with a practice that is part of Bassetlaw CCG, or people who are resident in Bassetlaw CCG area but are not registered with any practice whatsoever.
The AQP process will appoint providers to deliver a “Community Carpal Tunnel & Hand Surgery Service” which GP’s and their patients may choose to refer to following initial clinical assessment and conservative treatment.
The service will include:

Under this specification providers will deliver service elements as required under a “one stop” service.
Effective referral to a “one stop’ service” will be supported by:
— a best practice and evidence based pathway,
— a standard referral form,
— a GP pathway & questionnaire,
— and routine follow up guidance.
