The Gymnasium Justus Liebig School is located in the inner city area of Darmstadt "in the school island", address Landwehrstraße 28, 64293 Darmstadt.
The building is a listed building and was built in 1911 four-tiered in strict axiality under planning by city architect August Buxbaum as Higher Boys' School and adjoins the south side of the adjacent gymnasium. The old building has a basement projecting halfway out of the ground floor and 4 above-ground storeys as well as the attic, which will be expanded as part of the refurbishment for classrooms.
