The project concerns the construction of new cycling infrastructure along the N1 Koningin Astridlaan in Kontich between the Duffelsesteenweg and the Antwerpsesteenweg, including the reconstruction of the intersections. Along the route, new canals/rainwater system and driveways are also planned, as well as the construction of a separate sewerage system. The roadway of this regional road N1 will also be renewed down to the sub-foundation.

For the connection of the sewerage system, the complete renewal of roads and sewerage is also foreseen in part of the Nachtegaalstaat, Doopput, Boomgaard and the Hoogbunderlaan. In addition, the project also foresees the construction of an underground buffer basin in Doopput and an open basin in the side street 'Koningin Astridlaan' of the N1 Koningin Astridlaan. In the Ooststatiestraat, a redesign of the superstructure is planned as a bicycle street at the connection with the Hoogbunderlaan. The sewerage works and road works in the side streets are at the expense of the co-financiers.
