EPFL's Scientific IT unit wants to acquire two storage systems: a new generation of NAS, and high-performance storage for scientific computing (Simulation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Image Learning, Deep Learning, etc.) on the other hand. Both systems must allow data to be exchanged.
NAS file storage: focused on collaboration between research units, allowing the deposit of unprocessed data, from scientific equipment or related to research activities.
High-performance file storage for scientific computing: focused on high-performance computing use, mainly by compute nodes accessible through NFS editing or any other suitable protocol.
