In 2009, to support the introduction of the Electronic Recording and Reporting System (ERS) in Ireland, the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority (“the Authority”) installed ERS terminals on board approximately 200 Irish fishing vessels to facilitate the input of logbook data. This also included providing the Irish Sea Fisheries Protection Officers with a minimum of 100 DCDs to automatically capture ERS data on board fishing vessels and populate inspection forms.
The authority now requires replacement devices for all Irish Sea Fisheries Protection Officers. These should be fully rugged devices with applications and accessories as listed in the specifications. As part of the tender evaluation process, an agreed set of applications for the DCDs will be confirmed. Please refer to the application section of the device specifications.
