Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) consists of two properties with the campus at 53757 Sankt Augustin, Grantham-Allee 20 and the campus in 53359 Rheinbach, Von-Liebig-Straße 20. The administration is located on the Sankt Augus-tin campus.
In July 2021, the Rheinbach campus was flooded as a result of heavy rain events. The ground floors and the basement floors were under water. The infrastructure, which was located in the basement floors, was almost completely destroyed, and the building body was damaged.
Extensive clean-up and demolition work was carried out immediately afterwards, which is coordinated independently by the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The work is expected to be completed at the beginning of May 2022.
Extensive gutting work has taken place, which was accompanied by an expert with regard to harmful substances and mold infestation or is being monitored until the end of May. The affected areas have been released for reconstruction by the expert. An expert report has been prepared, which will be made available in the further proceedings.
It is now intended to commission general planning services, which will be divided into four sub-projects:
- Reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure
- Complementary remediation measures over the life cycle
- Coordination of laboratory ventilation refurbishment
- Evaluation of existing facades
