Architectural services for outdoor facilities in the building area "Brunnenquartier in the city of Karben, district Kloppenheim, development area: approx. 7.9 ha

Planning of outdoor facilities 2 neighbourhood spaces

The reason for the procedure is the search for a suitable landscape architect for the services to be provided in the course of the development of the construction area "Brunnenquartier" in the Kloppenheim district of the city of Karben.

Under the working title "Brunnenquartier", the last large unplanned open space in Karben's city centre is currently being planned. On behalf of the city of Karben, the Hessische Landgesellschaft (HLG) is planning the development of the "Brunnenquartier" building area in the Kloppenheim district. The building area has a size of 7.9 ha. The area is currently still used for agriculture. However, it makes sense to make this central area, located in the immediate vicinity of the Groß-Karben S-Bahn station, usable for urban development. The area meets the criteria of the state program "Großer Frankfurter Bogen". The programme aims to develop living space within a 30-minute rail journey around the metropolis of Frankfurt.

In 2018 and 2019, an urban development framework planning was commissioned. For the preparation of the framework plan, urban development funds were acquired from the "Sustainable Living Environment" programme. Urban and green space planners worked together with the citizens to develop future uses and design options for planned quarters. In addition to the major topics of living space and open space design, topics such as mobility and the sustainability of neighborhood development also played an important role.

The framework plan was completed in 2020. At the same time, the preparation of the necessary development plan was started.

The following open spaces are located in the area of the planned construction area:

• 2 Quartiersplätze

• Quartierspark

• Grünzüge I – II

• Green corridor north

For the award of the planning services outdoor facilities according to § 39 HOAI, an open, single-phase implementation competition is to be carried out.

The planning competition is to be carried out with the result that a separate award is possible for the following combined open spaces:

1. Prizes

• 2 Quartiersplätze

• Quartierspark

2. Awarding of prizes

• Grünzüge I – II

• Green corridor north
